179th Infantry Regiment Coin

The 179th Infantry Regiment, also called “Tomahawks”, is an infantry regiment of the United States Army’s National Guard. It was constituted in the Oklahoma Volunteer Militia as the 1st Infantry Regiment, on the 2nd of May 1890. As a component of the “fighting 45th” Infantry Division, they have a major portion of the Sicilian and Italian Campaigns, much of the French and German Campaigns, or the war in Europe.

The battalion is an organic element of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Currently, the 1st Battalion is the only active battalion in the regiment and is organized as a combined arms battalion under the brigade unit of action table of organization and equipment.

We had an opportunity to produce a unique and one-of-a-kind custom challenge coin for them. As opposed to the common round-shaped challenge coin, they wanted to have one with the shape of a raven standing on a plaque. They also want to have the name of one of their officer, their insignia, and their motto to be engraved on the back side of the coin.

For this kind of extraordinary design, we had to make sure that the aesthetic and the construction were coming along nicely. You can see in the photo that the machined details of the feathers are perfectly painted in black, with only red paint for the raven’s eye as am accent.

22nd Infantry Regiment Coin

22nd Infantry Regiment Coin

22nd Infantry Regiment Coin

Originally authorized on June 26, 1812, the 22nd Infantry Regiment is a parent regiment of the United States Army and was one of a number of additional Regiments of Infantry authorized by Congress on that date, in an attempt to hastily reconstruct the United States Army for the war with Great Britain.

The famous motto of the 22nd Infantry Regiment, “Deeds not words”, mirrors the Regimental history of doing what is right and getting the job done, regardless of the price. The Regiment has always been steadfast, loyal, and dependable. The official motto was approved in 1923, along with the Regimental Distinctive Unit Insignia.

They asked us to design and craft a challenge coin for them, something simple and elegant, yet looks modern and up-to-date. They wanted to put their insignias on both sides of the coin, and also have their motto engraved around them. Other than that, they wanted something clean and straightforward.

You can check out the photos and see for yourself the level of detail that we managed to put on this fairly small challenge coin. The coin was cast from a matte brass-colored metal, and the outlines for the graphics and letterings were perfectly cut. The glossy paint is affixed nicely on the surface of the texts and drawings.

1st Special Forces Group Coin

1st Special Forces Group Coin

1st Special Forces Group Coin

The 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) also called 1st SFG (A) is a unit of the U.S. Army Special Forces operating under the United States Pacific Command. It was constituted on the 5th of July 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 2nd Company, 1st Battalion, First Regiment, 1st Special Service Force, a combined Canadian-American organization. It was first activated on the 9th of July 1942 at Fort William Henry Harrison, Montana.

The group is responsible for operations in the Pacific and was among the first Special Forces groups of the United States Army. It is fashioned to deploy and execute nine doctrinal missions throughout the Indo-Pacific Command area of operations: unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, direct action, counter-insurgency, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, information operations, counterproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and security force assistance.

We were ordered to manufacture a challenge coin for the 1st Special Forces Group, and they asked for something simple and common-looking, but with details that are important and distinguished. The basic design for the graphics was a beret on one side, and an East-Asian-looking gate on the other.

This custom-made challenge coin that we crafted for them was something classic and timeless. With no paint or special coating, just plain rustic brass-colored metal. But see it from a close distance and you can appreciate the details and curves of the engraved letterings and graphics.

CVN-76 Cents Challenge Coin

CVN-76 Cents Challenge Coin

CVN-76 Cents Challenge Coin

USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) is a Nimitz-class, nuclear-powered supercarrier in the service of the United States Navy. CVN stands for Carrier, Volplane, Nuclear, it is a United States Navy hull classification symbol for nuclear aircraft carriers. Named in honor of former President Ronald Reagan, President of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Upon her christening in 2001, she was the first ship to be named for a former president still living at the time.

USS Ronald Reagan’s strength lies in the character and diversity of her crew: “We are more than just a team: we are family. Like any family, there will occasionally be friction – but we will always treat each other with dignity and respect, without exception.”

As the United States’ only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan is the cornerstone of Carrier Strike Group 5. Together with Carrier Air Wing 5, their ship-air wing team forms the most lethal fighting force in the world.

We had the honor to build them a custom challenge coin called the ’76 Cents’. On one side it’s designed to look like a coin with a sculpted image of Reagan’s head on it. On the other side, we put the engravings of the CVN-76 with its aircrafts hovering above it.

True North Tribe Pendant

True North Tribe Pendant

True North Tribe Pendant

A pendant, in jewelry, is an ornament suspended from a bracelet, earring, or, especially, a necklace. A necklace is a piece of jewelry that goes around your neck, but a pendant is a small piece of jewelry, such as a heart-shaped diamond in a white gold setting, that can be attached to an anklet, necklace chain, or bracelet.

Pendants are derived from the primitive practice of wearing amulets or talismans around the neck. The practice dates from the Stone Age when pendants consisted of such objects as teeth, stones, and shells. Pendants are among the oldest recorded types of bodily adornment. Stone, shell, pottery, and more perishable materials were used. Ancient Egyptians commonly wore pendants, some shaped like hieroglyphs.

Pendants can have several functions, which may be combined: Award, Identification, Ornamentation, Ostentation, Protection, and Self-affirmation.

This pendant we crafted for True North Tribe was made from metal and painted only with black on some elements. On one side they asked us to put a carved image of a meditating astronaut. And on the other side, they wanted to put the logo of True North Tribe, which has a small pattern of lines as the background.
