22nd Infantry Regiment Coin
Originally authorized on June 26, 1812, the 22nd Infantry Regiment is a parent regiment of the United States Army and was one of a number of additional Regiments of Infantry authorized by Congress on that date, in an attempt to hastily reconstruct the United States Army for the war with Great Britain.
The famous motto of the 22nd Infantry Regiment, “Deeds not words”, mirrors the Regimental history of doing what is right and getting the job done, regardless of the price. The Regiment has always been steadfast, loyal, and dependable. The official motto was approved in 1923, along with the Regimental Distinctive Unit Insignia.
They asked us to design and craft a challenge coin for them, something simple and elegant, yet looks modern and up-to-date. They wanted to put their insignias on both sides of the coin, and also have their motto engraved around them. Other than that, they wanted something clean and straightforward.
You can check out the photos and see for yourself the level of detail that we managed to put on this fairly small challenge coin. The coin was cast from a matte brass-colored metal, and the outlines for the graphics and letterings were perfectly cut. The glossy paint is affixed nicely on the surface of the texts and drawings.
