The customer wanted some challenge coins for less that would still look nice and last for a long time. The customer worked with our artists on a design and this is the resulting coin that we came up with after a good amount of working together. Thankfully, we allow as many challenge coins for less design changes in order to get it just right.

On the front of their challenge coins for less we put a 3D eagle with 3D wave effects, a partially 3D bridge, and a few other images, seals, and words set upon a badge shape for the coin. If you look closely, you can see that the eagle’s talons are gripping the bridge, a beautiful extra detail.

The back of this customers coin three awesome looking planes flying into the airport over the bridge. Also on the back we can see the 3D cloud textures in there. With the shape, choice of gold, the artistry showing the planes coming towards us, and the hidden details such as badge number and airport codes, these challenge coins for less coin look incredible.

These particular chief coins are a great example of showcasing several things we are capable of. Both sides were designed to have very similar formats to one another, giving a pleasant transition from one to the other side. On the border of these chief coins, we have well detailed chain link, with scrolls saying different things on each side along the bottom.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about these coins though, is the glow in the dark yellow neon-like paint on the front of the Chief coins. It actually does glow in the dark.

To contrast that cool effect on the back, we added a background that looks remarkably close to wood given that we are talking about a Chief coins here.

DoD Coins

We wrote the book on DOD coins, and we continue to set the standard in quality for all branches and all departments within the Department of Defense.

When we say DOD coins, we means coins that represent all of the civilian and military departments within the Department of Defense. We have made hundreds of DOD coins for Marines, Sailors, the Air Force, Army, and Coast Guard, like this one in particular. We have done it all, including DOD coins for an Admiral.

This customer was part of a Chief’s Mess on a Coast Guard Cutter, and wanted some DOD coins to share with their Mess for distribution to subordinates or other people.

On the front of this coin we featured a Bulldog–the nickname of this Cutter–the Chief and Senior Chief anchors, and an Alaskan landscape behind. The rear of the coin features this customer’s boat, with number and name. A beautiful mountainous rocky landscape rises behind the boat.

This coin is one of many great DOD coins, but was unique in that most DOD coins do not feature landscapes. Our detail and representation of the landscapes was impeccable and really captured that area of Alaska–desolate and rugged.
