Navy Chief Coins

One of the greatest parts of making challenge coins are the hidden details sometimes contained creatively within them. Navy Chief coins are especially loaded with symbolism and meaning, and this coin highlights that in several ways and, overall, is just a high quality, beautifully made coin.

First off, the plating choice of gold mixes incredibly well with the outer ring blue, giving a very pleasing presentation to anyone who looks at these particular Navy Chief coins. This coins were specifically for an important event honoring several sailors and their meritorious promotion to Chief Petty Officers.

Four emblems representing the parts of the Navy these four sailors came from are in a diamond pattern on the front around the anchor–an essential part to all Navy Chief coins. A golden chain–an important symbol of Chief Petty Officers–links the four emblems, and the date and three rating badges of the sailors, symbolizing their job positions in the Navy, sit between the four emblems. A hidden CNO in the 1 in 31–representing the 31st CNO at the time–and MCPON in the 1 in 13–representing the 13th MCPON at the time–are hidden in the front. On the back, the sailors’ names ring the outside, along with the respective parts of the Navy each awardee was part of–written in small, hard to see on the actual coin font on the compass which centers the whole backside of the coin.

American Legion Commemorative Coin

Embleholics was tasked with making a commemorative coin honoring the American Legion’s Adjutant in Idaho. Our customer wanted a coin that would represent him, the American Legion, and his background in the military.

When Embleholics starts work on a commemorative coin, we ask our customers to think of the message they want the coin to send, and who would be receiving the coin. These questions help us narrow down on the design elements important to your coin. This person settled on a streamlined design looked both professional and elegant. The front of the coin focuses on the customer’s current role leading a division within the American Legion. The Legion’s symbolism is captured wonderfully through the 3D ridges in the finished coin.

The back of the coin captures the customers pride in country and Marine Corps, while the scope complements the importance of continuing to serve. The finish on this commemorative coin is antique gold. The blue, gold, and yellow color combination complement each other well, fitting in well with the reds and blacks also found throughout.

Veteran Coins

Because we are the best out there at making any kind of coin, and because we are 100% veteran owned and operated, Embleholics often gets commissioned to make veteran coins by big name corporations, companies, or sports franchises to celebrate Veteran’s Day or otherwise honor military service. And what better way than with unique, one-of-a-kind veteran coins?

Early in 2017, we got contacted by the SEATAC office of Delta Airlines to make veteran coins which would honor veterans employed by Delta for Veteran’s Day. These veterans themselves wanted amazing veteran coins that any veteran would love instantly. So that’s exactly what we did.

Using a set of wings attached to a Delta logo as a template for the both the shape and the entire front side of the veteran coins, we added beautiful colors and a 3D high detail to the wings. As you can see, they look simply incredible. For the back, we customized a waving American Flag for the background, and added all five emblems of all five major military branches. To finish of their veterans coins design, we engraved 2017 on the edge below the Delta symbol on every single coin.

Delta cares a great deal for its veterans, so they spared no expense to make it even better. Amazing veteran coins are awesome, but a customized box to contain the coin is even better. That’s what Delta did. We worked with them to select a color they liked, and imprinted an American Flag onto the interior of the box.

US Army challenge Coins Made Right!

With this US Army challenge coin we were asked to make a basic coin that had been made before. Even with this design that was provided to us, we went back to the drawing board to give the coin a little extra and show our customer what we could do. Though the design is pretty basic we went with a curved front rather than a flat look to the coin. This choice was highly unique and, although it uses a simpler color combination, this helps gives the coin a lasting appeal.

We  also took the basic text on the back and made it pop out of the coin in a more 3D look. We wanted to make sure that even though the text was all one color, that whoever was reading it could see each letter of each word in fine detail. In the final colors we went with an antique gold look which gave the coin its refined and old military feel, but still made it look like a new and updated design.

When we started go make this coin we wanted to make something that would represent the unit as well as the state that the unit represents. Because of that we made the coin to show the California state flag in the background as well as the militia minute man standing front and center for all to see. As the coin doesn’t represent a official military unit, it does however represent men and women there to stand up in time of need. The coin’s front represents that by displaying the man standing up with his rifle.

We also included in the design of these particular custom made challenge coins some deep colors of blue and gold that are often used in the military to make beautifully colorful and antique looking coins. On the back of the coin we included the basic design of the unit with some basic 3D aspects to keep the coin professional and also elegant.
