We decided to make the coin a cutout coin in a unique design in order to make the coin as special as possible for them. The coin features a 3D effect where the parachute is along with some silver plating to bring out the design. This particular coin was made for a Naval Officer and features a unique look of the Navy’s Emblem in gold in the center, with the Navy’s time-honored values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment encircled around it. Looking at a close up view, you can see an incredible attention to detail with the plating on this coin. It it quite common for us to make coins that have this level of detail.

Another detail you may notice is the shiny, flat coating around the coin. This is a epoxy seal that helps preserve the coin’s integrity–the paint in particular–against effects such as weathering, scratches, or normal wear-and-tear.
