Clarence Fire Co. Challenge Coin

The Clarence Fire Company is located near the Clarence Hollow on Main Street, Clarence, NY. They provide fire protection and EMS services. Clarence Volunteer Fire Company provides the following services to our community: Fire, EMS, Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Rural search & Rescue, and Ice Rescue.

The first Clarence Fire Company was organized in March 1916 and was comprised of twenty-five members headed by the following officers. This group of men volunteered their services to protect the property of the citizens of Clarence against fire, and by means of subscription, were able to purchase the fire hall at the top of Academy Hill as well as a hand-drawn chemical fire-fighting wagon.

This fire-fighting wagon was requested by the Clarence Fire co. to be placed on their custom challenge coin that they commissioned us. They want it to be sculpted nicely, with all the details shown and carved on the coin’s base metal material. We used copper as the base material of the engraved fire-fighting wagon, so it’ll pop out nicely from the gunmetal-colored coin, without using paints and colors.

On the other side, they wanted an etched logo of the Clarence Fire Company painted with the original colors. And for the finishing touch, we thickened the edge of the coin and applied a simple line pattern to it.

This dazzling custom challenge coin was commissioned by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office. The County of San Luis Obispo is a county on the Central Coast of California. The county seat is San Luis Obispo, and the population is about 285,000.

The mission of the San Luis Obispo (SLO) County Sheriff’s Office is to protect all life and property and to provide service, security, and safety to the community. Its vision is to be the most progressive and creative leaders within the law enforcement community, and ensure our County remains one of the safest places to live and visit.

This challenge coin was going to be rewarded to the personnel of the Bomb Task Force of the SLO County Sheriff’s Office. The Bomb Task Force is accredited by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bomb Data Center in Washington, D.C. and is certified as a fully operational and fully equipped bomb squad, capable of rendering safe and disposing of improvised explosive devices, military ordnance, and commercially manufactured explosives.

The coin was perfectly machined and cut to the specification and design that they requested. The Bomb Task Force logo on one side and a cartoon character image of a bomb on the other side. Finished in gunmetal color, with a beautiful shiny diamond pattern on the edge.

Supply Corps Challenge Coin

The Town of Bernalillo is set on the northwest slope of the Sandia Mountains and hugs the banks of the state’s major river, the Rio Grande. It is located in Sandoval County, New Mexico, and is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. The wine grape was introduced here in the 1620s and vineyards flourished in Bernalillo with each family making its own wine. Wine making became a major industry.

The Town of Bernalillo Fire Department contacted us to have their custom challenge coin designed and crafted. It is a professionally trained safety enforcement agency providing 24 hours, 365 days of public safety services. The mission of the Town of Bernalillo Fire and Rescue Department shall be to protect the lives and property within the Town and surrounding communities.

They ordered a unique custom challenge coin that has an outline of the fire department logo, as opposed to a normal round one. They wanted to have their logo on one side, and a graphic image that symbolizes the Town of Bernalillo on the other, with a splash of the US flag around it.

The engravings of the logos and the inscriptions are amazingly machined with precision. Every detail is shown and the paints were correctly applied.

Fishers of Men Coin

This beautiful custom challenge coin was made for a church with the theme of ‘Fishers of Men”. “Fishers of men” is a phrase used in the gospels to describe the mandate given by Jesus to his first disciples.

It tells the story of two brother fishermen, called Peter and Andrew by Simon, who were casting a net into the Sea of Galilee. As he commenced his preaching ministry, Jesus called them to follow him and told them that in doing so they were to become “fishers of men”. The phrase is revealed in Matthew 4:19 and Mark 1:17.

The challenge coin concept was quite straightforward, showing a Fishers of Men logo, and some inscriptions of the references from the Bible. The metal material with a brass color was chosen as the base for the coin. And we didn’t put many graphic elements other than some logo and symbols which they requested. We just need to apply them in the design and have them machined properly so they would look as they should.

The inscriptions and letterings which were embossed on the coin also need to be executed perfectly so they can be easily read, and go along with the rest of the design elements. The finishing touch for this gorgeous coin was some paint on the symbols and had the unpainted material brushed.

While the majority of federal law enforcement employees work for the departments of Justice and Homeland Security, there are also who work under the other executive departments, as well as under the legislative and judicial branches of the federal government.

The United States Department of Justice was formerly the largest and is still the most prominent, collection of federal law enforcement agencies.

This custom challenge coin was designed and crafted for the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, to honor their National President and National Executive Vice President. At a glance, it looks like an ordinary challenge coin, but if you look closely you’ll find that the middle part of the coin was hollowed to form the outline of the Federal Law Enforcement badge.

The details engraved on the badge are magnificent, all the lines and letters were embossed and shaped flawlessly, and the colors applied to them were also nicely painted.
