The Tenth Air Force (10 AF) is a unit of the U.S. Air Force, specifically a numbered air force of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC). Tenth Air Force was a United States Army Air Forces combat air force created for operations in India, Burma and Indochina during World War II in the China Burma India Theater of operations.

10th Air Force is headquartered at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. It is one of three numbered air forces in Air Force Reserve Command, and is responsible for command supervision of 17 units, ensuring each maintains the highest combat capability to augment active duty forces in support of national objectives. Its mission is to provide mission-ready Reserve Citizen Airmen to fly, fight and win in every domain. And its vision is to be the premier provider of lethal power and vigilance in support of U.S. National Security!

The custom challenge coin that they commissioned to us is a masterpiece. The original shape that they use as the outline shape of the coin could be labelled classic or vintage, but it is definitely not an old boring looking one. Air Force 3E0X2 Challenge Coin

Air Force Electrical Power Production (3E0X2) is one of the most important responsibilities within the USAF. The Air Force is very reliant on electricity which makes the specialty code extremely important to daily operations. Air Force 3E0X2 Specialists install, operate, maintain, and repair electrical power generating and control systems.

The United States Air Force classifies its military jobs as specialty codes (AFSC). The classification is a little different from the U.S. Army and Marine Corps which defines jobs as Military Occupational Specialities (MOS). Every AFSC in the Air Force has qualifications and training requirements.

They wanted a custom challenge coin that represents the spirit and skill of 3E0X2. The basic shape of the coin is designed to look like a gear, with their insignias to be carved on both sides. While it’s no ordinary looking challenge coin, if you look again closely, you can see that a couple of the gear teeth are actually can be used as a bottle cap opener!

The end result is a custom coin that look like it came straight out of an apocalyptic video game or movie. All the design elements are crafted flawlessly, without unnecessary decoration or ornament. ADAB Fire Dept. Challenge Coin

Al Dhafra Air Base aka ADAB, is a military installation in the United Arab Emirates. Al Dhafra hosts the United States Air Force’s 380th Air Expeditionary Wing (380 AEW), which was established at the base on 25 January 2002.

The 380 AEW’s mission is to carry out combat operations to provide high-altitude all-weather intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, airborne command and control and air-refueling for the military intervention against ISIL/ISIS (known by the US military as Operation Inherent Resolve) and NATO led operations in Afghanistan (Operation Resolute Support). They commissioned their custom challenge coin to us, and as you can see on the photos, the result is a one-of-a-kind challenge coin.

They wanted a coin with unusual coffin-like shape, with simple graphics, and quite extensive letterings on its both sides. No overwhelming patterns or engravings, just the ADAB Fire Department letterings, some planes silhouette on one side and engraved & painted flags of the United States of America and United Arab Emirates.

The brass-colored base material emanates luxurious vibe to the coin, while the solid glossy colors of the backgrounds gives it a contemporary feel. The engraved letterings and graphics are machined perfectly. All the lines are cut right and the colored areas are painted flawlessly, even the small elements such as the stars on the American flag.

In Rome, if soldiers excelled in battle one day, they would receive their typical day’s wages along with a separate bonus coin each. According to one story, the first use of challenge coins in the United States originated during World War I. Others argue the tradition started in Vietnam.

The United States Armed Forces are the military forces of the United States of America. The armed forces consists of six service branches: the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard. This custom challenge coin commissioned to us is for a joint event between the Army, Air Force, Navy, and the Marines. They wanted something unsophisticated but still classy and presentable.

The result is a quite exquisite piece of coin. A logo on one side, encircled with precisely embossed letterings of their core values. And on the other side, the insignias of the 4 military forces, with the Star Spangled Banner graphic as the background. A twisted line pattern on the edge of the coin gives an elegant accent to the whole design.

Clean-cut base material with only embossed dots on the edge of the coin, Gigamon ThreatINSIGHT™ logo on one side and the simple letterings with a contemporary kind of font on the other. Painted the base color of the design with glossy black, and only use two other colors for the logo and the texts really give this coin a futuristic technological vibe.
