USS Tortuga Challenge Coin

Supply Corps Challenge Coin

USS Tortuga (LSD-46) is a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship of the United States Navy. She was the second Navy ship to be named for the Dry Tortugas, a group of desert coral islets 60 miles west of Key West, Florida. The keel was laid down by the Avondale Industries in New Orleans, La., on March 23, 1987. She was launched on September 15, 1988, and christened on November 17, 1988.

In April 2006, the TORTUGA replaced the USS FORT McHENRY (LSD 43) as a forward deployed naval unit in Sasebo, Japan. The hull swap was part of the Navy’s long-range plan to routinely replace older ships assigned to the Navy’s Forward Deployed Naval Force with newer or more capable ships. The TORTUGA was previously homeported in Little Creek, Va. In August 2013, the TORTUGA was replaced again in Japan by sistership USS ASHLAND (LSD 48) and changed her homeport to Little Creek again.

We had the opportunity to create one of the most unique custom challenge coin for their First Class Petty Officers. It’s shaped like a Sea Turtle, complete with the head and flippers! And it’s also can be used as a bottle opener. It’s beautifully crafted that the tiny details on the flippers and on the USS Tortuga’s insignia are perfectly cut and painted.

USS Eisenhower Challenge Coin

USS Eisenhower Challenge Coin

United States Ship (abbreviated as USS or U.S.S.) is a ship prefix used to identify a commissioned ship of the United States Navy and applies to a ship only while it is in commission. USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) (known informally as “Ike”) is a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier currently in service with the United States Navy.

Commissioned in 1977, the ship is the second of the ten Nimitz-class aircraft carriers currently in service, and is the first ship named after the 34th President of the United States and General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower. The vessel was initially named simply as USS Eisenhower, much like the lead ship of the class, Nimitz, but the name was changed to its present form on 25 May 1970.

We’re proud to be chosen to produce a custom challenge coin for this legendary ship. So no punches pulled in designing this extravagant coin. The wanted a shield-shaped coin, with shiny golden finish for the base material. The FAMA logo embossed and painted on the back of the coin, and on the front is the emblem of FILAM, consisting of precisely machined 3D axes, stars and ribbon. Everything was crafted flawlessly that you can see the details just from the pictures.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for tennis in the United States. A not-for-profit organization with more than 700,000 members, it invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grass-roots to the professional levels. The association was created to standardize rules and regulations and to promote and develop the growth of tennis in the United States.

USTA Texas is the governing body for the sport of tennis in Texas and the leader in promoting and developing the growth of tennis at every level — from local communities to the highest level of the professional game. They commissioned a custom challenge coin to us, and they wanted to represent sportsmanship and Texas pride through this challenge coin.

They want something clean and simple, with minimum graphics and ornaments. The surfaces of the coin was decorated with white paint as background. And we just put an image of Texas map painted with three colors on one side of the coin, and on the other we put the logo of the Texas Tennis Officials, with the olive wreath image to represent the sportsmanship. No engravings and embossment, the coin look really slick, modern and beautiful.

Navy Submarine Challenge Coin

The six Naval Sea Systems Command Program Executive Offices (PEOs) are responsible for the development and acquisition of naval platforms and weapons systems. Their mission is to develop, acquire, field and sustain affordable and integrated state of the art equipment for the Navy and Marine Corps. The Naval Sea Systems Command is organizationally aligned to the Chief of Naval Operations. As part of its mission, NAVSEA provides support, manpower, resources, and facilities to its aligned Program Executive Offices (PEOs).

One of the six Naval Sea Systems is Program Executive Office Columbia (PEO Columbia), which provides the Navy with design, construction, and delivery of the Columbia-class fleet ballistic missile submarine. The commissioned this custom challenge coin to us, and wanted something with a modern vibe to it as opposed to the classic common challenge coin we usually see.

They wanted an image of a submarine with the PEO CLB letters on one side, and the graphic style, as you can see, is more of a contemporary graphic design, with some accents from the US Flag’s Star & Stripes. And on the other side, they wanted to put the engraved image of the black flag with the crossbones, with the inscription of their admiral’s name and their motto on the edge of the coin. The result is one awesome custom challenge coin.

American Legion Challenge Coin

American Legion Challenge Coin

American Legion Challenge Coin

The American Legion, commonly known as the Legion, is a nonprofit organization of US war veterans headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

One of the Legion’s major concerns has always been care of disabled and sick veterans; it was instrumental in establishing hospitals and other services. American Legion Post 404 of Republic, Ohio, asked us to craft a custom challenge coin for their 100th anniversary, and we were more than happy to accept the job.

The design concept of the coin is what we usually call a ‘clean-cut’. No overpowering patterns, no inessential elements, only American Legion logo on one side, and a picture of an American Eagle with a pair of military boots, a rifle & helmet on the other side. Both graphics are encircled with bold, big texts. The brushed brass-colored coin material gives this coin a classy vintage look, while the nicely painted text and logo bring out a modern accent to the whole design.
