Covid-19 Quarantine Challenge Coin

Covid-19 Quarantine Challenge Coin

Covid-19 Quarantine Challenge Coin

Quarantine is a strategy used to prevent transmission of COVID-19 by keeping people who have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 apart from others. Isolation and quarantine are key strategies to reduce the spread of COVID-19. If you test positive for COVID-19, have symptoms, or are identified as close contact with someone who has COVID-19, you should isolate or quarantine as appropriate.

Quarantine describes when someone who has been exposed to COVID-19 stays home and away from others for the recommended period of time in case they were infected and are contagious. Quarantine becomes isolation if the person later tests positive for COVID-19 or develops symptoms.

This custom challenge coin was commissioned to us to remember this pandemic and the quarantine that people had to went through. The design was pretty simple, a grim reaper holding a covid-19 virus on one side, and a head wearing a firefighter helmet and gas mask on the other side. The base coin has a brushed brass finish, and the paint used was only white, red, and blue, for the US Flag background.

As you can see in the pictures, this is a challenge coin with a simple concept and minimum ornaments, yet still, looks awesome and strangely menacing.

Coastal Riverine Force Coin

Coastal Riverine Force Coin

Coastal Riverine Force Coin

CORIVFOR or The Coastal Riverine Force is a unit of the United States Navy within the organizational structure of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC). NECC announced the official name change for all Coastal Riverine Forces to Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces (MESF) in 2020. While the Navy has a long history of operating in littorals and inland waterways, the Coastal Riverine Forces were established in 2005, in part to combat insurgents using such waters in Iraq.

Patrol Boat teams can trace their history back to World War II. Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Three rescued General Douglas MacArthur from the Philippines after the Japanese invasion and then participated in guerilla actions until American resistance ended with the fall of Corregidor. It’s now the umbrella organization for training and deploying sailors specializing in riverine ops, littoral missions, and port security, among others.

The custom challenge coin that we built for them is a colorful one, and full of details. Starting from the engraved insignias and letterings on both sides, gold color finish on some of the elements, and the diamond plate pattern as the background of the whole layout. And also the small painted ornaments are also done flawlessly so that everything was colored in its original colors. This is one shiny and colorful beautiful coin.

The 146th Airlift Wing (146 AW) is a unit of the California Air National Guard, stationed at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, Oxnard, California. Its primary mission is to provide global military airlift capability to a full spectrum of state and federal agencies. If activated to federal service, the Wing is gained by the United States Air Force Air Mobility Command.

The 146th Civil Engineering Squadron is a part of the 146 AW. Its mission is to prepare combat-ready engineers for worldwide deployment while providing premier engineering and emergency support. They contacted us and asked to manufacture a custom challenge coin. They wanted something distinctive and extraordinary, using the map of the state of California as the shape of the coin.

On the front side, they wanted to put their mascot, a raging bull, and the inscription of The 146th Civil Engineering Squadron. Above it, we placed their insignia, and under it, we put their slogan, both to be embossed on the surface. Yellow paint was applied for the background of the front side, also the letterings and the graphics were also painted in colors.

On the back side, they wanted to have an image of a bear, an airplane, and the scenery of the Californian mountains to be engraved. With only the bear’s teeth to be painted, the rest is just finished with brushed brass color.

48th Infantry Regiment Challenge Coin

48th Infantry Regiment Challenge Coin

48th Infantry Regiment Challenge Coin

The 48th Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment in the United States Army which is founded in 1917. The 1st and 2nd Battalions, 48th Infantry, were mechanized infantry units assigned to the 3rd Armored Division (United States) (3AD) in West Germany during the Cold War. The battalions had overlapping assignments in the 3AD within the time frame 1957 to 1983. On June 16, 2017, the 48th Infantry’s 2nd Battalion was reactivated in a ceremony at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

48th Infantry veterans are very pleased to know the Dragoons are once again proudly serving our nation at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, training about 5000 soldiers per year, primarily for the Combat Service Support branches. They have received a number of historical artifacts of the regiment from World War One to modern times. Additional items I am sure would be welcome.

They asked us to produce their custom challenge coin and wanted it to be also functional as a bottle opener. They wanted something bold and straightforward, with no room for unnecessary ornaments or decoration.

The base material was shaped like a dog tag, with the area in the middle cut out for the bottle opener to function. The base color is gloss black, with the edges and the letterings finished in gold. The only colors applied are just the ones on their Dragoons insignia.

Marine Security Guard Coin

Marine Security Guard Coin

Marine Security Guard Coin

A Marine Security Guard (MSG), aka a Marine Embassy Guard, is a Marine Corps Embassy Security Group member. U.S. Marine Security Guards have worked closely with the State Department and DSS for more than six decades to protect and safeguard people, property, and sensitive information at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world.

Security Guards protect mission personnel and classified information through security inspections and access control while using advanced security equipment. But most importantly, they are trained to respond to situations like intrusions, bomb threats, demonstrations/riots, fires, or natural disasters at Embassies or consulates.

After every three years as a Marine Security Guard with the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, any Marine is entitled to the Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon. According to the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations Order (Section 5-26) however, Marine Security Guards are not authorized to wear subsequent service stars.

This custom challenge coin that the MSG ordered was to be awarded to the guards assigned in the United Arab Emirates. They wanted something luxurious and colorful, with the flag of the USA and UAE displayed on both sides of the coin. And the details & ornaments should be coated with golden plating, giving the coin shiny accents and a lavish vibe.
