Coastal Riverine Group ONE Coin

The Coastal Riverine Force (CORIVFOR) is a US Navy unit within the organizational structure of the NECC (Navy Expeditionary Combat Command). Its purpose is to provide port and harbor security, and offshore protection for maritime infrastructure and Military Sealift Command ships operating in coastal waterways.

There are currently seven squadrons within the United States with detachments abroad. Coastal Riverine Group ONE is comprised of Squadrons 1, 3, and 11 and is homeported on the West Coast. The Navy’s Riverine force focuses on conducting Maritime Security Operations and Theater Security Cooperation in a riverine area of operations or other suitable areas. The force is capable of combating enemy riverine forces by direct fire, or by coordinating supporting fire.

The Coastal Riverine Group ONE requested us to produce a distinguish custom challenge coin. They wanted the coin to be shaped like their insignia, which has a shield with a dragon on top of it, and two crossed sabers. On the front side, they wanted the three-colored shield with the big number 1 on it, and on the back side, they wanted to put other insignias and emblems of their unit.

The challenge coin elements were colored with the original colors of their insignia, and the base material is finished with beautiful glossy gold color.

LRMC or Landstuhl Regional Medical Center is the largest American hospital outside of the United States, and the only American tertiary hospital in Europe. They provide primary care, tertiary care, hospitalization, and treatment for more than 205,000 U.S. military personnel and their families within the European Command.

LRMC is also the evacuation and treatment center for all injured U.S. service members and civilians, as well as members of 56 coalition forces serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, as well as Africa Command, Central Command, and European Command. More than 95,000 wounded soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq have been treated at LRMC as they make their way through the medical evacuation system back home.

This coin was built for the LRMC Troop Command’s Charlie Company. They asked for something unique and unordinary custom challenge coin, that is shaped like the map of Germany, where the LRMC is located. They also wanted to put an image of a knight and a castle on one side, and their insignias on the other side.

The side with the insignias was painted red, with the engraved graphics elements left unpainted with some dark rendering for the tone The other side was not colored, except for the knight and the ribbons to produce some nice accents.

Brook Park Police Coin

Brook Park Police Coin

Brook Park Police Coin

Brook Park is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, with a population of 18,595. The city attracted national attention when 21 Marines of the 3rd battalion, 25th Marines Regiment, and 4th Marine division headquartered in the city were killed in combat in Iraq on August 1 and August 3, 2005. The unit lost 48 Marines during the course of the deployment.

The Police Department of Brook Park ordered us this classic custom challenge coin. The primary mission of the Brook Park Police Department is to provide high-quality services to its citizens with an emphasis on improving the quality of life in its community by promoting a safe environment.

The design idea was simple and straightforward, they wanted a normal challenge coin but customized with their police insignia shown on one side and the image of Saint Michael, the Patron Saint of Police Officers and Law Enforcement. They also asked to have the coin finished in gold, silver, blue, and red colors.

While the basic elements of the coin are quite standard, the image of Saint Michael and the police department insignia needed to be carefully engraved and sculpted, because it has so many details and textures. The nicely machined graphics and letterings can be seen clearly if you zoom the photos of the coin.

Boom Operator Challenge Coin

Boom Operator Challenge Coin

Boom Operator Challenge Coin

A boom operator is an aircrew member aboard U.S. Air Force tanker aircraft who is responsible for transferring aviation fuel from one military aircraft to another during flight, a method also known as aerial refueling, air refueling, in-flight refueling, air-to-air refueling, or tanking. The name “boom operator” implies that one operates a “boom” or “flying boom”, which is a long, extendable metal arm attached to the rear underside of the tanker that connects to the fuel receptacle of a receiving aircraft.

In the USAF the position of “Boom Operator” is a position held by an enlisted aviator, (rank Airman Basic through Chief Master Sergeant) who is responsible for safely and effectively refueling other aircraft while in flight. The official Air Force title for boom operators is “In-Flight Refueling Technician”.

This shiny custom challenge coin was ordered by the Boom Operators of the US Air Force. They asked us to produce a challenge coin that is shaped like a shield or a badge, and the sides have the graphic images of the US flag and the California Republic flag, with the inscriptions of “Book Operator” and “NKAWTG” which is the abbreviation of “Nobody kicks ass without tanker gas”, the motto of the boom operators.

ACCRON ONE TWO SIX Coin

ACCRON ONE TWO SIX Coin

ACCRON ONE TWO SIX Coin

ACCRON (Airborne Command & Control Squadron) ONE TWO SIX or VAW-126, also nicknamed the “Seahawks”, is a carrier airborne early warning squadron of the United States Navy. The squadron is based at NS Norfolk, equipped with five E-2D Hawkeye aircraft.

VAW-126 mission is to provide mission-ready and combat-ready E-2D aircraft and proficient aircrew on the station, on time, and safely in order to execute the commander’s intent. It was first commissioned at NAS Norfolk, Virginia on 1 April 1969, and in March 2015, the squadron participated in Joint Exercise Green Flag 15-06 by providing airborne Command & Control for the Air Force’s 548th Combat Training Squadron at Barksdale AFB.

The cool and attractive custom challenge coin you see in the photos is crafted for the ACCRON ONE TWO SIX Commanding Officer. They requested a challenge coin with an extraordinary design, which is shaped like a normal round coin but with some ‘propellers’ protruding on the edge of it. These ‘propellers’ are similar to the ones that you see on an E-2D Hawkeye airplane.

The logo and insignia etched on the sides of the coin are no less eye-catching. The graphics were machined with precision, and the colors were applied beautifully.
