271st HRC Challenge Coin

271st HRC Challenge Coin

The United States Army Human Resources Command (Army HRC or simply HRC) is a command of the United States Army. HRC is a direct reporting unit (DRU) supervised by the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel (DCS), G-1, focused on improving the career management potential of Army Soldiers. From basic training through retirement, Regular Army and the United States Army Reserve Soldiers have one agency to assist in career management.

HRC is located in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and includes 40 operational elements around the country under the leadership of the HRC commander. HRC is the functional proponent for military personnel management. HRC also supports the Director, United States Army National Guard, and the Chief, Army Reserve, in their management of the Selected Reserve. The HRC commander is also the commander of the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), the Standby Reserve, and the Retired Reserve.

The 271st HRC wanted something colorful, extraordinary, and distinguished design for their custom challenge coin. The idea was to have an image of a tower next to a sea, with the sun and the moon showing in the distance. And have them combined with the basic elements of a challenge coin such as banners, insignias, and letterings.

As you can see from the photos, this is truly a one-of-a-kind custom challenge coin.

116th ASOS Challenge Coin

116th ASOS or Air Support Operations Squadron is a Washington National Guard unit assigned to the 194th Wing. Air Support Operations Squadron trains, equips, and maintains mission-ready air liaison, terminal attack control, and weather observation and forecasting elements to support the commanders of US Army units. The squadron also provides tactical command and control of airpower assets to the Joint Forces Air Component Commander and Joint Forces Land Component Commander for combat operations.

Their mission is to provide Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) who support two Army National Guard Brigades and one Division, the 116th ASOS acts as the furthest extension of Air Force influence on the Joint battlefield. These Tactical Air Control Party members are close air support experts, advising ground commanders on use of Air Force assets in combat. JTACs serve as forward air controllers, winning battles by guiding weapons onto targets.

We had an opportunity to make them a custom challenge coin. It was really sharp and elegant challenge coin, with some details that applied neatly onto the coin. The concept design was pretty simple: Their insignia on one side, and their mascot, the Husky, on the other.

While the design concept is quite simple, every element on the coin was executed perfectly. From the base material, embossed lines, and letterings to the painted colors, all fit together charmingly.

AFOSI Detachment 613 Coin

AFOSI or The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is a field operating agency with headquarters at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. The agency reports to the Inspector General, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. By federal statute, AFOSI provides independent criminal investigative, counterintelligence, and protective service operations worldwide and outside of the traditional military chain of command.

The United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations was founded in 1948 at the suggestion of Congress to consolidate investigative activities in the Air Force. Secretary of the Air Force W. Stuart Symington created AFOSI as a Field Operating Agency and patterned it after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Proactively, AFOSI identifies, investigates, and neutralizes serious criminal, terrorist, and espionage threats to personnel and resources of the Air Force, Space Force, and the U.S. Department of Defense, thereby protecting the national security of the United States.

AFOSI Detachment 613 came to us to build their custom challenge coin. They wanted something classy but down-to-earth, without using many colors. They asked us to put their engraved insignia on one side, and the image of the wolf mascot on the other. This simple yet elegant coin was finished with a shiny chrome-like layer.

AAPIA Covid Cruise Coin

AAPIA Covid Cruise Coin

AAPIA Covid Cruise Coin

AAPIA or American Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, is a nationally known association serving public insurance adjusters. Its mission has always been to assist the profession and its clients with understanding homeowners’ insurance policies and business insurance policies. Public Insurance Adjusters serve an important service to consumers, helping them to navigate the often complex and difficult issues they face after suffering property damage.

Founded in 2004, AAPIA’s goal is to ensure that the rights of a public adjuster are represented, so that the licensed public adjuster can be able to work in a fair and open marketplace. AAPIA has testified in many state houses across the United States on behalf of the licensed public adjuster advocating for a fair and reasonable market in which its members can continue to serve their policyholders. They receive calls and inquiries from legislators and their staff when language is being considered or amendments offered that will improve the licensing act of a public adjuster.

During the Covid Pandemic in 2020, they requested a custom commemorative challenge coin for their Covid Cruise 2020-2021 program. They wanted something extravagant, bold, and shiny for their representative challenge coin. The basic outline of the coin is shaped like a flying hawk carrying an 8-points star.

741st EOD Challenge Coin

741st Ordnance Battalion or also known as 741st Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is a unit of the National Guard. On order, 741st Ordnance Battalion plans, directs, coordinates, and controls all EOD assets and operations in a theater.

The 741st EOD state mission is to provide 250 Soldiers as part of the States Response Task Force (RTF) in order to support civil agencies that have the primary responsibility to protect life and property, preserve the peace, and maintain order and public safety. HHD provides the HQs element for the RTF and 10 Soldiers in the RTF.

741st EOD BN is uniquely structured to provide training and support across a broad spectrum of missions including Humanitarian Assistance / Disaster Relief (HADR), Consequence Management, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Counter Improvised Explosive Device (CIED), and Site preparation and facility construction.

When they ordered their custom challenge coin from us, they asked for something different but elegant. They choose to have their coin shaped in a rectangle, as opposed to being round like some common ones. And they want to put their insignias and logos on both sides of the coin.

We used a shiny chrome-looking metal as the base material of the coin. And we engraved all of the logos and insignias and applied colors to most of them.
