IGY6 Challenge Coin

IGY6 Challenge Coin

IGY6 Challenge Coin

The saying goes “I Got Your Six” which is usually seen on social media abbreviated as IGY6, comes from servicemembers training to always have their buddy’s back in their time of need. Military members use the clock to indicate direction. When something is in front of you, they tell you it’s at 12 o’clock. If something is to your left or right, they tell you it’s at 9 o’clock or 3 o’clock respectively. Finally, if something is behind you, it’s at 6 o’clock.

The military and first responder communities often face exceptional challenges when it comes to mental health. These individuals are regularly exposed to high-stress situations, trauma, and dangerous conditions, which can take a toll on their mental well-being. The IGY6 spirit helps to create a sense of community and support within these groups, encouraging individuals to seek help and providing a safe space for open and honest conversations about mental health.

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association asked us to craft custom challenge coins for their 2022 Vets Helping Vets IGY6 event. They wanted something different but still looking classic and elegant.

You can see in the photos that the rim of the coin was engraved with a cool chain pattern. Other details such as the colorful skull and the Star Spangled Banner were done with precision. It’s one cool and tough-looking challenge coin.

IAFF 244 Challenge Coin

IAFF 244 Challenge Coin

IAFF 244 is a part of Albuquerque Fire Rescue, a paid municipal department, of more than 740 uniformed personnel who serve a jurisdiction of more than 189 square miles an estimated city population of 558,000, and a greater metropolitan area population is estimated at 909,906. Its mission is to protect the lives and property of Albuquerque residents and visitors with proactive fire inspections and public education programs.

Over one-third of their fire stations require Firefighters with specialized training. This includes their five Wildland Task Force stations, two Hazardous Materials Task Force stations, and one Technical Rescue Task Force station. Whether it’s a medical emergency in your home or at your place of work, a lost hiker in the foothills, or a child swept down arroyo from a flash flood they are ready to respond. Their Firefighters are trained to handle hazardous materials spills and leaks, confined space rescues, vehicle extrication, and rope rescues.

The custom challenge coin that we built for them looks like a typical Fire Department or Firefighters coin, with the shape of the Maltese Cross. But we at Embleholics always try to do our best to give a personality and exclusivity to each coin that we manufacture, so there won’t be coins that look exactly like another.

HHC Hydra Challenge Coin

HHC Hydra Challenge Coin

HHC Hydra Challenge Coin

A Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) provides staff assistance to four battalions, each with a unique mission. In United States Army units, a HHC is a company-sized military unit, found at the battalion level and higher. Considered one unit, a Headquarters and Headquarters Company are essentially two elements within one company.

The 110th CBRN BN also known as “Iron Dragons” is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Battalion. The 110th Chemical Brigade (Technical Escort) is part of the 48th Chemical Brigade and 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives (CBRNE) Command, the U.S. military’s premier all-hazards headquarters.

This very cool-looking custom challenge coin was made for the HHC of the 110th CBRN Battalion. They wanted the coin to be something awesome that represented their mascot, a hydra or a many-headed dragon. They also requested their motto “Feed the Beast” to be engraved on the back side of the coin, along with their logo and insignia.

We at Embleholics had fun working on this extraordinary coin. Started working on the design digitally, and making sure that our equipment could carve and shape all of the details on the edges and the texture of the beats’ skin. As you can see, it turns out to be a masterpiece of art.

Hail State Challenge Coin

Hail State Challenge Coin

Hail State Challenge Coin

“Hail State” is the fight song and rally cry of Mississippi State University. The words and music were written by an ardent Mississippi State fan named Joseph Burleson Peavey. In 1937, he wrote “Men of State (Hail, Mississippi State)” as the winning entry in a school contest and earned fifty bucks for his trouble.

Hail State became the official hashtag of Mississippi State Athletics and Academics around the 2010 football season. It has trended nationally and internationally at different momentous moments in the recent athletic history of the university. Mississippi State was also the first university to paint a hashtag (#hailstate) onto a playing surface. This act and future hashtags were later banned by the NCAA for all institutions.

We had an opportunity to immortalize the hashtag into a custom challenge coin. The Navy Mustang of Mississippi State ordered a challenge coin, with the coin shaped like the map of the state, and requested the #hailstate to be inscribed on the front side. They also requested that both sides of the coin be colored maroon, just like the university’s color.

We at Embleholics have crafted many coins with unique shapes, such as the map of a state, country, or region. Our machine can handle mini angles and curves of a map with good precision. We also make sure that the cut edges are going to be polished smoothly.
