The Triple Deuce, US Army’s 2nd Battalion of the 22nd Infantry, was trained in Fort Lewis, Washington, as part of the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, in 1966. The regiment has been present in numerous conflicts: Spanish American War, the Philippines Insurrection, Vietnam, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The history of the Triple Deuce can be traced back to the War of 1812 when the original regiment was formed. The Triple Deuce was constituted on 3 May 1861 and participated in campaigns throughout early American history, World War II, and Vietnam. Triple Deuce joined the 10th Mountain Division in September of 1986. Their motto is “Deeds not words”.

We at Embleholics had the opportunity to build a custom challenge coin for the legendary Triple Deuce. They wanted something a bit fun for this coin, so they asked us to put their mascot, a cigar-smoking bulldog, in a cartoon style, on the front side of the coin. On the back side, they want an image of the flag and some lettering and numbers that feature their battalion and regiment.

This coin has wide rims on each side, and it has small protruding details chiseled on the edge. The finish of the base material is a stainless steel-like brush effect, with glossy paint for the bulldog and the flag coloring.

The VP-26 Tridents Coin

VP-26 or Patrol Squadron TWO SIX, is a member of Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing ELEVEN, a Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Squadron with a worldwide theater of operations. Mission areas include long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The VP-26 “TRIDENTS” are home-ported at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida.

During its illustrious history, VP-26 has enjoyed success in a wide variety of areas. the Tridents take the most pride in the six Chief of Naval Operations Safety Awards they have earned. VP-26 achieved these successes while adding to its phenomenal safety record. In the years ahead, the Tridents anticipate more challenging deployments to guard liberty and protect our nation’s interests with ever-more exciting and capable tools in the hands of America’s finest sons and daughters.

We at Embleholics we assigned to manufacture the custom challenge coin for the Tridents. They wanted a challenge coin with a core design taken from their insignia. It’s a compass image with a skull in it, but they wanted to have a bit of uniqueness to their coin, so we made the four compass needles protruding beyond the outline.

On both sides, we machined reliefs of an airplane, a Boeing P-8A, viewed from the front. We also embossed a figure of a trident behind the aircraft and engraved different backgrounds for the front and backside.

Texas Water Utilities Association Coin

The Texas Water Utilities Association (TWUA) is a water utility, member-centered organization. Water utility means a governmental unit, municipal or private corporation, association, partnership, or individual engaged in furnishing water to the public for household or drinking purposes.

TWUA’s goal is to assist its members in providing improved services to mankind in their public health and environmental endeavors. They provide training programs, technical publications, and mutual problem-solving opportunities for those employed in, or otherwise interested in, the water utility industry. It has been the premier educator for water professionals in the state of Texas since 1918.

They ordered a custom challenge coin that is shaped just like their logo. The Logo itself is a cool, unique design, which looks like a
circle being folded at the top, with a star in the middle. This coin was made to celebrate their 105th anniversary, so they also want the moment to be glorified as a part of the coin’s design.

Existing images or logos that you want to use for your personalized product can be used by converting the images digitally or having them traced by our team of graphic designers. The converted images will be read by our computerized machine that cuts and engraves the base material that we use for the custom product.

Team Submarine is a combination of the Program Executive Officer, Submarines, the Deputy Commander, Undersea Warfare, and the Undersea Technology Officer. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities.

US Navy’s submarine acquisition and sustainment is comprised of four key organizations; Team Submarine, Naval Reactors, Strategic Systems Programs, and Chief of Naval Operations Undersea Warfare Division. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.

For their challenge coin, they wanted a common challenge coin but with a more artistic vibe. They chose to use cartoony illustrations as the base design of the coin. They are a cell-shaded drawing of a submarine floating on the ocean, with the Star Spangled Banner as the sky background.

On the rim of each side of the coin, we inscribed some lettering before we finalized the production by applying some paints for the coloring and glossy protective coat.

This T-Mobile custom challenge coin was ordered to memorialize a collaboration with the US Armed Forces. A pretty simple design concept was given to us, which is to have a T-Mobile logo etched on one side of the coin, and on the other side, they want all the emblems of the US Armed Forces engraved.

While the concept is simple, if you look at the photos on the right, you can see how small the details of the US Armed Forces emblems are. Thankfully our state-of-the-art machinery could achieve the level of detail needed to be etched.
