This custom challenge coin was ordered by the Mott Volunteer Fire Brigade. A volunteer fire department (VFD) is a fire department of volunteers who perform fire suppression and other related emergency services for a local jurisdiction. volunteer and retained (on-call) firefighters are expected to be on call to respond to emergency calls for long periods of time and are summoned to the fire station when their services are needed.
They wanted something honorable and respectable for their challenge coin, so they asked for something with classic with some inscription that people can read and understand their spirit. They wanted their insignia on one side, encircled with some embossed letterings. And on the other side, they wanted an American flag graphic as the background, with the engraved inscription taken from the Bible, Isiah 43:2.
As you can see in the pictures, the result was a very good-looking and respectable challenge coin. Everything was placed well and the elements were machined perfectly.
