Expeditionary Warfare and Anti-Terrorism Coin
Anti-terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) is a multi-faceted security program designed to seek to identify, assess, and counter terrorist threats to U.S. military personnel, family members, civilians, and informational and wealthy assets in all locations and situations. The program employs a variety of security, intelligence, and law enforcement functions, as well as diplomatic, military, and economic measures taken to counter terrorist threats.
The ATFP system follows five levels of conditional standards, with each level corresponding to a different threat level. The conditions, listed in descending order of stringency, are Condition Delta (Extreme), Condition Charlie (High), Condition Bravo (Elevated), Condition Alpha (Guarded), and Condition Normal.
This unique custom challenge coin with a design based on the Spartan helmet was ordered for the ATFP 5717 program. The concept idea is a helmet combined with crossed assault rifles and some arrows. On both sides, the coin was sculpted with some patterns, lettering, and embossed graphics.
