Army Signal Command Coin
The United States Army’s 7th Signal Command (Theater) is responsible for the integration, security, and defense of Army networks in the Continental United States. The 7th Signal Command is designed to extend Army network capabilities to Army forces in support of US-based expeditionary operations.
7th Signal Command’s mission is to, “Provide and defend network capabilities and services for Army, Joint, Interagency, and Multinational forces in the Western Hemisphere to enable operations and mission command. The command is one of five theater Signal Commands worldwide and is a subordinate element of NETCOM/9th SC (Army).
The custom challenge coin commissioned to us is more like a ‘wing’ rather than a common coin. They wanted eagle wings as the basic shape of the coin, with a shield in the middle of them. Their original symbol is a gold eagle mounted at the top of seven lightning. The eagle is a symbol of steadfast vigilance, while the seven lightning flashes are a reference to the Command’s communication mission and an allusion to the Command’s numerical designation. While they don’t want to use this original insignia on the coin, we use the color scheme of orange & blue to be applied to this one-of-a-kind custom challenge coin.
