ADAB Fire Dept. Bottle Opener
Al Dhafra Air Base or ADAB is a military installation in the United Arab Emirates. As of 2020, contractor activity at Al Dhafra on behalf of the US military includes Abacus Technology Corp. information technology, Centurum information technology,[8] and construction projects.
ADAB hosts the United States Air Force’s 380th Air Expeditionary Wing (380 AEW), which was established at the base on 25 January 2002. The 380 AEW’s mission is to carry out combat operations to provide high-altitude all-weather intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, airborne command and control, and air-refueling for the military intervention against ISIL/ISIS (known by the US military as Operation Inherent Resolve) and NATO led operations in Afghanistan (Operation Resolute Support).
This custom challenge coin and bottle opener was ordered by the ADAB Fire Department. The design used a unique shape as the base and on both sides are just the insignia and emblem etched there. We needed to make sure that the small insignias are carved perfectly so they will stay true to the original form.
Also, we need to confirm that the inscriptions and the texts are placed in the right spots. They wanted a dark bottle opener so we applied glossy black paint as the base color of it, which brings out the other colors on the emblems and the letterings.
