501st Aviation Regiment Coin
The 501st Aviation Regiment is an aviation regiment of the US Army. It draws its history from the original aviation battalion of the 1st Armored Division, the 501st Aviation Battalion. The 501st Aviation Battalion was active with the division in the mid-1980s. It has always been associated with the 1st Armored Division. The 2nd Battalion (General Support) is also known as “Desert Knights”.
This is a custom challenge coin that is awarded to the 2nd Forward Support Medical Platoon which is assigned in the City of Jalalabad, Afghanistan. The forward support medical company plays a vital role in the manning task by providing division- and unit-level health service support to all units operating in the supported brigade area on an area basis.
This challenge coin, in terms of design, has two different faces: A classic military design on one side, and a fun, cartoony design on the other. The strong military vibe is shown on the side with the task Force insignia engraved on it, and the comical feel is shown with the illustration of a man riding a donkey.
Both sides are manufactured and machined carefully to achieve the level of detail that we wanted. All the lines are perfectly cut and all the colors are painted nicely.
