U.S. Navy Cougars Squadron Coin

Electromagnetic Attack Squadron 139 (VAQ-139), also known as the “Cougars”, is an EA-18G Growler squadron of the United States Navy. The Cougars of VAQ-139 became operational on 1 July 1983 under the command of CDR Richard A. Clark while flying the ICAP (Improved Capability) EA-6B Prowler.

The Cougars specialize in electromagnetic attacks and are currently stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington. The Cougars led numerous missions deep into the Arabian Gulf and significantly contributed to the contingency planning in anticipation of Operation DESERT STORM.

To make the cougar head spinnable, we had to construct a pivoting mechanism on the top and bottom of the cougar head sculpture. Luckily, our computerized cutting-edge machinery is able to execute such kind of detail, and as you can see in the photo to the right, the pivoting mechanism is not noticeable if you see it from afar.
