Flint Area Narcotics Group Coin

Flint Area Narcotics Group Coin or F.A.N.G., is a multijurisdictional drug team that investigates drug and criminal activity in Genesee County, Michigan. Established and operating since 1985, F.A.N.G.. detects and investigates drug-related crimes, and provides specialized services from membership agencies.

There are currently two street-level teams assigned at F.A.N.G. Each team investigates criminal and drug activity within Genesee County by targeting low to mid-level dealers in an effort to identify and target source dealers and organizations. In addition to law enforcement participants, FANG has numerous governmental entities including townships, villages, and cities throughout Genesee County that are participating members.

They contacted us and asked us to build them a custom challenge coin that also could function as a bottle opener. The design was quite simple, they wanted their mascot, a cobra, to be sculpted on the front side of the coin. On the back side, they wanted an inscribed illustration of the Grim Reaper holding drugs and money.

When we designed a coin that could be used as a bottle opener, we had several templates of the shape that we could apply to the base material so it would work well as a bottle opener. We also make sure that the construction of the coin will be strong enough to function as a bottle opener, by using the best materials and coatings.
