USACE South Atlantic Division Coin
The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) South Atlantic Division is one of eight regional offices overseeing military and water-resources design, construction, and operation in the eight states in the Southeast, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The USACE South Atlantic Division designs and builds major military facilities for the Army and Air Force in the Southeast.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers works with the private sector to accomplish its military and water resources programs. By contracting with architect-engineers, construction, and many other types of companies, the South Atlantic Division designs, builds and operates dams, waterways, buildings, recreational, and other facilities throughout the region.
They requested us at Embleholics to build them a unique and personalized challenge coin. They wanted the coin to be shaped like a gear, with the teeth on the edge, and also have their insignias and emblems engraved on both sides of the coin. The coin should be colored in dark chrome plating, with other graphic elements painted with glossy colors.
We had our graphic designers make a mock-up for the shape of the custom coin, and also to digitalize the original emblems and insignias so they can be read and applied to the machined base material, by our computerized equipment. The result is as you can see in the photos on the right.
