Bellingham PD Challenge Coin

Bellingham is the most populous city and the county seat of Whatcom County in the U.S. state of Washington. Today, Bellingham is the northernmost city with a population of more than 90,000 people in the contiguous United States and is frequently named on Best Places to Retire lists.

This custom challenge coin was commissioned to us by the City of Bellingham Police Department. This coin was specifically made to honor their Detective Division. The Detective Division usually consists of a group of highly trained investigators and personnel assigned to this division are responsible for investigating crimes against persons and property.

We actually enjoyed working on this challenge coin because the design concept that they requested for us to put on the coin was very artistic. On one side they want to have a graphic image of the natural scenery of Bellingham, like the mountains and the river, and on the other side, they wanted to have a couple of detective characters in a cartoony silhouette style, like something that came out of a 50s comic book.

You can see from the photos how gorgeous the coin is. All the lines from the artwork were machined perfectly, and the painted colors are so glossy and shiny. We are pretty sure that the detectives receiving these coins would be very proud and delighted.
