Army Corps of Engineer Coin
The Savannah District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers supervises a multi-million dollar military design and construction program for 11 Army and Air Force installations in Georgia and North Carolina. It is responsible for military construction at some of the nation’s key military installations/power projection platforms and manages water resources across the Savannah River Basin.
The Savannah District construction projects range from barracks, hospitals, clinics, equipment shops, training facilities, and airplane hangars. It employs approximately 800 team members throughout Georgia and North Carolina. Working with stakeholders and customers, the team is developing emerging technologies, sharing resources, and honing specialized engineering skills that will lead the way to a stronger and more sustainable tomorrow.
They ordered a custom challenge coin from us, and they wanted something memorable and classic, yet symbolizing the spirit of engineering. The main idea was to have the coin shaped like a gear with teeth, as opposed to a normal round coin. They also requested for their insignia to be put on one side of the coin, and an image of their district on the other.
The result was a challenge coin that is distinctive and full of details. From the gear ‘teeth’ which were machined precisely, to the images of their logo and their district view that were engraved and painted nicely, all of the details were put and crafted flawlessly.
