Nevada Highway Patrol Coin
Nevada was one of the first western states to have an organized highway patrol function. On June 23, 1923, the first Nevada State Highway Patrolman was hired by the Nevada Highway Department under the supervision of the Inspector of the Nevada State Police. The Nevada Highway Patrol has jurisdiction anywhere within the state. The headquarters is located in Carson City with regional commands in Reno, Elko, and Las Vegas.
Its mission is to promote safety on Nevada Highways by providing law enforcement traffic services to the motoring public. To accomplish our mission, the Division is committed to the following organizational values as the foundation of its pledge to public Safety, Service, and Security. And its vision is to be a united and diverse workforce providing statewide 24-hour service to the motoring public resulting in safer highways.
A unit in the Nevada Highway Patrol, the Northern Command East State Trooper, asked us to produce them their custom challenge coin. The design was straightforward and clear, just the emblem of the Nevada Highway Patrol on one side, and the State of Nevada’s Flag with the Star Spangled Banner as the background, on the other side. A brushed raw metal look finish made this coin a humble yet elegant one.
