Established and operating in Genesee County since 1985, Flint Area Narcotics Group or F.A.N.G. detects and investigates drug-related crimes, and provides specialized services from membership agencies. The group provides resources and equipment to assist with investigating all high-profile criminal activity.

Since its inception as a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement unit over 20 years ago, the primary, original focus of FANG lies in its name, narcotics. In the criminal world, times are changing, and so is FANG’s mission. A FANG undercover officer spells it out. “We’re not just a drug team anymore. There are so many other things that are going on that need to be addressed. The drug is a large part of it, but it’s not the only part of the picture anymore.”

They commissioned us to design and manufacture their custom challenge coin, and they asked for something cool that represents their mission & vision. We put the image of their mascot, a Cobra, on one side of the coin, and a grim reaper on the other, both are nicely embossed and sculptured on the chrome-colored metal that we used for the base of the challenge coin. The side with the cobra glows naturally without any colors, while the side with the grim reaper is nicely painted and gives the coin a modern vibe.
