WaFd Bank Challenge Coin
Washington Federal, Inc. is a United States bank based in Seattle, Washington. It is the primary subsidiary of Washington Federal, Inc., a bank holding company, that operates 235 branches in eight western states.
The bank was founded on April 24, 1917, as Ballard Savings and Loan. In 1958, it merged with and took the name of Washington Federal Savings and Loan. The bank demutualized in 1982. The present holding company structure was adopted in 1995. In 2019, Washington Federal is launching a simplified name and logo. They said the previous version served them well for many years but didn’t emphasize who they are, what they do, or the service they provide in their eight states, so the bank was rebranded as WaFd Bank.
WaFd Bank ordered this custom challenge coin to us when they remodeled their Headquarter’s Ground Floor. They wanted something simple but memorable to commemorate the event. We only put their logo on one side of the coin, and on the other side, a simple graphic engraved with their core values inscribed. The material used for the coin is a silver-colored metal with a brushed finish, with only using 2 colors, their signature WaFd green, and pale yellow.
