Training Academy Challenge Coin

SCFTA or The Snohomish County Fire Training Academy is a training program and facility provided by several cities in the Washington state, including: Arlington, Everett, Mukilteo, Lake Stevens, Marysville, etc. South County Fire is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, serving more than 250,000 residents in unincorporated communities and the cities of Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace.

This custom challenge coin ordered to us was to honor the graduated Recruit Class 20-1. They wanted something delicate but unsophisticated and simple. With the use of minimum ornaments, colors and pain. With just a symbol of biohazard etched on one side, and the emblem of the fire department on the other.

We chose shiny pale golden color as the base material of this coin. In the middle of both sides, we applied light gray as the color of the surface, which will be the background of the emblems. We had the biohazard logo to be engraved and painted with a gray darker than the background, and the Fire Department emblem to be painted with the pattern of the US flag. The result is a beautiful, shiny monochromatic coin.
