Cavalry Brigade Challenge Coin
The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team is the state’s largest unit. The brigade is located in more than 20 Idaho communities and across four states: Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Oregon. The unit is one of five armored brigade combat teams in the National Guard and one of 16 in the United States Army. The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team has units located throughout Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Nevada.
Often referred to as the Snake River Brigade and formerly known as the 116th Armored Cavalry Regiment, the unit includes about 3,000 citizen-soldiers from Idaho. Since 2001, the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team has deployed twice to Iraq, completed National Training Center rotations and trained around the country and world.
The wanted something classic and has an aristocratic feel to it. We applied a shiny golden colored metal as the base coin material, and crafted a rope pattern to the coin’s edge, encircling the graphics and ornaments on the surface of the coin. It has the crests of the units on one side, and the picture of a German castle on the other. The finishing on the detailed embossed insignia & crests is executed perfectly, even if they are relatively small in size. The paints and colors are on spot, and the unpainted surfaces are polished and shines.
