The USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) is a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, named after Ronald W. Reagan, the 40th President of the United States. Its primary role is as a mobile airbase at sea, capable of power projection, air dominance, strike warfare, maritime security, and humanitarian support.
Named after Ronald Reagan, who strongly advocated for a robust U.S. Navy and military during his presidency, USS Ronald Reagan is unique because it’s the first aircraft carrier permanently forward-deployed to Japan, enhancing U.S. presence in the Pacific. It also operates as the centerpiece of a Carrier Strike Group (CSG), supported by cruisers, destroyers, and submarines.
They gave us a task of crafting a one-of-a-kind custom challenge coin that will be given as a reward to their Captain. The coin has an elliptical shape, decorated with some graphical elements and symbols. They requested that one side be colorful and aesthetically pleasing, while the other side be monochromatic, clean, and uncomplicated.
The side with graphics and colors was designed to have several elements of decoration, such as the embossed image of the ship with the world globe as the background, with some ribbons and inscriptions. All engraved with the maximum precision by our cutting-edge machinery, and finished with a high-quality enamel paint to make sure they stand the test of time.
