NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center Coin

NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center (FLC) Puget Sound is a primary U.S. Navy logistics and supply chain hub located in the Pacific Northwest. Its core mission is to keep Navy ships, submarines, and aircraft operational by providing them with everything they need, from food and spare parts to fuel and weapons.

Think of it as a massive, highly specialized Amazon distribution center for the U.S. Pacific Fleet, but with the added complexity of managing global shipping, port services, and custom technical support. It is the backbone of naval logistics for the Pacific Fleet, ensuring that U.S. sailors and their ships have the sustained support they need to operate effectively and maintain national security.

We were tasked with fabricating a custom challenge coin for NAVSUP FLC. They wanted something unique and modern, yet still representative of the U.S. Navy’s spirit.

On the front side, they wanted an embossed relief of Seattle’s cityscape, with Mount Rainer in the background. Underneath, there is the etched inscription of their name, and on the bottom half of the coin’s field, they wanted an image of the sea with a silhouette of a submarine & a ship, and also an image of an octopus at the very bottom of the coin.

On the other side, they just wanted their logo to be engraved in the middle, and the motto ‘Semper Fortis’, meaning ‘Always Strong’, etched below the logo. This side was painted with glossy enamel white paint, and the logo was painted with its original colors.
