the story behind police coins
Challenge coins originated in the military as a way to identify and unite those who served together.
As officers transitioned from military service into law enforcement, that tradition carried over. The coin became a way to mark respect earned through service within police departments too.
Each coin carries its own story: a moment of pride, a shared hardship, or a legacy passed down within a department. It’s a physical reminder that the work, and the people who show up for it, matters.
If your department has a story worth telling, we’d be glad to help you tell it with a custom police challenge coin.
Our artists work with you from concept to finished coin, at no extra cost, so the design reflects exactly what your department stands for.
