Toyota Financial Services is the financial services arm of the Toyota Motor Corporation. It is not just a single company but a family of companies that provides a wide range of financial products to Toyota and Lexus customers and dealers worldwide. In essence, TFS is the engine that helps make vehicle ownership possible and accessible by handling the “money side” of the car-buying process.
They have what they call the ‘CISO Award’: an internal, prestigious recognition given by Toyota Financial Services to an employee or team that has made an exceptional contribution to the company’s information security and cybersecurity posture. It is not a public, industry-wide award but rather a high-level internal accolade used to motivate and reward outstanding performance in a critical business area.
They gave us the task of manufacturing a custom challenge coin to be awarded at the CISO Award event. They wanted something elegant and classy, but also representing the modern attributes of cybersecurity & information security.
They wanted the challenge coin to have a base color of matte gold, with only black paint on some surfaces for accents, with the exception of the Toyota Financial Services (TFS) in full color. The concept idea was just the logo of their cybersecurity unit on one side, and the logo of the TFS on the other, with some inscriptions embossed around the logos. The use of an electronic pattern on the rims of the coin gives the design a modernistic vibe.
Our team of skilled graphic designers laid out the elements added to the blueprint, before the mock-up was approved and handed to our fabrication team, and converted the digital design into the final product, finished and polished for delivery.
