Navy Chief’s Mess Challenge Coin

Recently, a customer asked us to create a unique cutout challenge coin for the Chief’s Mess of a Navy squadron. They wanted the coin shaped like a ship’s wheel and asked us to incorporate several images and symbols that were important to their Mess.

The design included all three Chief Petty Officer rank insignia, warfare insignia, a Supply Corps rating symbol, and a small 3D statue with special significance to the Chief’s Mess. Navy Chief challenge coins are always interesting projects because of the deep heritage of the Chief Petty Officer ranks and the symbolism associated with them.

Although this coin features several 3D elements, we can also create entire coins using 3D artwork, including textured surfaces, raised details, and dimensional elements incorporated into custom shapes and cutouts.

Navy Chief’s Mess Challenge Coin Design & Symbolism
