USS Iowa Belt Buckle
USS Iowa (BB-61) is a retired battleship, the lead ship of a class of 45,000-ton battleships, which was built at the New York Navy Yard, Brooklyn, New York. Commissioned in February 1943, From then until the end of 1944, she was intently involved in assaults against Japanese facilities and campaigns to capture the Marianas, the Palaus, and Leyte, including participation in the Battles of the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf.
USS Iowa is so famous because it was outfitted in WWII to be the flagship that carried President Franklin Roosevelt across the Atlantic in 1943 for meetings with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin, hence the nickname “the Battleship of Presidents”.
We had an opportunity to manufacture a custom belt buckle to honor the legendary battleship. It has the shape of Iowa state, with the state’s flag graphic elements, including the state of Iowa’s motto: “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.” engraved on the face of the buckle.
Building a custom belt buckle would take several steps, involving the digital design process, manufacturing and constructing using our computerized machinery, and finishing the product with paints and coatings. Every step is checked before going into the next one to make sure the quality of the final pieces is excellent.
