U.S. Navy PEO Attack Submarines Challenge Coin

The Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) is the U.S. Navy’s central office responsible for the entire life cycle of America’s nuclear-powered attack submarines, from research and development to construction, modernization, and finally, disposal. Think of it as the “CEO” or “General Manager” for the entire U.S. attack submarine fleet.

PEO SSN is the nerve center for ensuring the U.S. Navy maintains its undersea dominance. It is the single point of accountability for managing the multi-billion-dollar enterprise of designing, building, upgrading, and supporting the world’s most advanced attack submarines. The core mission of PEO SSN is to deliver and sustain dominant, technologically superior attack submarine capabilities to the warfighter.

We were given the task to produce a classic yet elegant custom challenge coin for the PEO SSN’s ‘Team Submarine’. The design was a timeless round coin, with a rope pattern on the rims, inscriptions encircling the fields of the coin, and embossed graphics of submarines as the main element in the center of both sides.

While the design may sound simple and straightforward, to manufacture such a design, we need to make sure that our team of digital designers lays out every element proportionally balanced on the design. Once our clients agree to the digital version of the final design, we hand it to our production team, and have it executed by our sophisticated equipment to create a well-machined product.
