NAVSUP – Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) is a command under the U.S. Navy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) that provides worldwide logistics, supply chain, and support for U.S. Navy and joint military weapon systems. Their mission is to ensure that all aircraft, ships, submarines, and weapon systems have the parts, components, and materials needed to remain mission-ready.
NAVSUP WSS is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, and also has a major site in Mechanicsburg, PA. It is organized to support different warfare areas such as Aviation (aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, etc.) and Maritime (ships, submarines, and surface combat systems). The ultimate goal of NAVSUP WSS is to provide reliable, cost-effective, and timely logistics support that ensures Navy and joint warfighters can operate without supply interruptions.
We were given the task to manufacture a special custom challenge coin for them. As opposed to having the coin round-shaped like a common one, this one is elliptical. And they also requested that one of the sides be sculpted with an image of an aircraft carrier, with one of the jets taking off from the runway. On the other side, we placed the NAVSUP logo with a minimalistic white background.
The designs for our coins are prepared by our team of graphic artists, with more than 10 years of experience in designing coins, medals, and other accessories. After the designs are approved by our clients, they’re passed on to our production team, and they make sure that our sophisticated equipment can read all of the lines and shapes before they are applied to the chosen materials.
