The National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) is the only museum in the U.S. with a mission to tell the story of all American veterans, from the American Revolution to the present day. Its focus is on the human experience of leaving civilian life, undergoing training, experiencing combat and service, and returning home. It’s a narrative about the person, not just the politics or battles of a specific war.

Within its broader story, the NVMM absolutely includes the experiences of veterans who served in the Korean War. You would find personal stories, artifacts, and exhibits related to the Korean War as part of the larger tapestry of American military service. It is a museum about the universal experience of being a veteran, and the Korean War is one of the chapters in that story.

They gave us a task to fabricate a beautiful custom challenge coin for the Korean War commemoration. They wanted something of a fusion of the contemporary design of their logo, combined with the classic illustration of the Korean War, to be shown on the sides of the challenge coin.

On one side, the NVMM logo looks very fashionable: Modern fonts and minimalistic graphics. Colored only in Black & White glossy enamel paints, we applied a voguish pattern on the rim of that side of the coin. And the contrary, on the other side, we engraved a relief of an illustration consisting of the map of North & South Korea, a tank, and a couple of soldiers walking beside it. All were etched beautifully and colored to the smallest details.
