The Mitchell Earwood Emergency Services Scholarship is a memorial scholarship established to honor the legacy of Mitchell Earwood, a dedicated firefighter who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Its primary purpose is to provide financial assistance to students in Georgia who are pursuing higher education in an emergency services-related field, such as firefighting, emergency medical services (EMS), or law enforcement.
Mitchell Earwood was a firefighter with the Walker County Fire Rescue in Georgia. On April 16, 2019, he died after being caught in a flashover while fighting a house fire. His death was a profound loss to his department and the community, highlighting the dangers that first responders face daily. The scholarship was created to keep his spirit of service, bravery, and commitment alive.
We had the honor of producing a gorgeous custom challenge coin for this program. The design concept of the challenge coin was something with a minimalistic look, yet still resemblance a classic and timeless coin. It was just an ordinary round coin with no use of heavy pattern on the rims and the fields of the coin. And the details were just the relief of Mitchell Earwood’s image on the front side, and an image of a firefighter car, commonly called a ‘Fire Truck’, on the back side.
Our sophisticated machinery could carve and cut images and shapes from digital drawings or photos, as you can see clearly in the photos of this beautiful coin. The brush effect we applied to the surfaces of the coin gives a depth to the whole design, and the small inscriptions were well etched and clearly readable from a distance.
We at Embleholics will use all of our resources to give you the best results for your custom coins, medals, or other mementos.
