Spencer Brothers Foundation Coin

Spencer Brothers Foundation Coin is a project of Players Philanthropy Fund, Inc., a Texas nonprofit corporation, founded by the three brothers: Pat, Cam, and Will Spencer. Pat Spencer plays for the NBA team Golden State Warriors, and his brother Cam plays for the Memphis Grizzlies. But growing up in Maryland, some of their strongest role models were not professional athletes – they were Naval Academy midshipmen.

The Spencer brothers announce the launch of the Spencer Brothers Foundation, focused on supporting veterans struggling with PTSD. Their approach combines fundraising for treatment programs with investing in clinical research. The Spencer Brothers Foundation partners with proven organizations accommodating veterans with PTSD through treatment programs, job placement, and family services.

They wanted a piece of keepsake to help spread their cause. that is somewhat sporty, but also resembles a military vibe, so they asked us to craft them a challenge coin. To achieve the sporty image, the basic layout would be quite simple, but showing sports elements, such as a basketball or a golf ball. We incorporated that idea into a design as the background pattern on the fields of the coin.

You can recognize the texture of the basketball even if it’s overlaid by the QR code, which is precisely engraved onto the surface of the coin to make sure that it’s scannable. The Spencer Brothers Foundation logo on the front of the coin was also wonderfully embossed and colored that you can recognize it from a distance.
