ESST, or Electronic Surveillance Support Team, is a statutory program under the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that reimburses local law enforcement agencies for participating in regional Electronic Surveillance Support Teams. These ESSTs consist of specially trained personnel equipped to provide technical surveillance support to law enforcement operations throughout Florida, upon request.

Local law enforcement can participate by entering into a Multi-Agency Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement (MAA) with the regional FDLE Special Agent in Charge, and complete an ESST Financial Assistance Agreement each state fiscal year and submit it to the relevant Regional Operations Center for the SAC’s signature.

They gave us a fun task: Creating a one-of-a-kind and funky-looking custom challenge coin. As you can see in the photos, the base design of the coin was the same as an ordinary round coin, but with an additional shape of an alligator holding the coin from behind. The cartoon imagery of the alligator added a joyful vibe and gave the challenge coin a unique and distinguishing look.

But other than that, the details applied to the coin itself are a masterpiece. You can appreciate the details carved on the owl with spread wings on the front side, and the FDLE badge relief’s tiny elements on the other side. All of them were flawlessly machined and painted, using our high-quality materials.
