Task Force Frumentarii (TFF) is a self-described “intelligence community” and “open-source intelligence (OSINT) collective.” It is not an official government or law enforcement agency. This is a very specific and relatively obscure term that refers to a private, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in the state of Georgia, USA.

They gained significant public attention for its involvement in the high-profile Tara Grinstead case. Grinstead was a beauty queen and teacher in Ocilla, Georgia, who disappeared in 2005 in one of Georgia’s most famous cold cases.

We were given the task to produce a custom challenge coin for the TFF. They wanted a commemorative challenge coin for their ‘ESOPOTAMIA, MMXXIV – MMXXV’ as the official, formal title of Task Force Frumentarii’s current investigative campaign or “season” of work. They ordered a timeless piece of memento for the event, a classic round-shaped metal challenge coin to be given to their personnel as a memento of appreciation.

The front design has their logo, which consists of images of a Roman helmet, a lightning bolt, a key, and a Roman leaf crown or commonly known as the ‘Laurel Wreath’. And the back of the coin has the symbols and the insignias of their units and divisions. All of these images were embossed by our state-of-the-art machinery and finished with high-quality enamel paint to make sure they stand the test of time.
