The 624th Aeromedical Staging Squadron (ASTS) is a specialized unit of the United States Air Force. Its primary mission is to act as a crucial link in the aeromedical evacuation system, providing care for patients at aerial ports and ensuring their smooth transition from ground-based medical facilities onto aircraft for long-distance transport.
The 624th ASTS’s mission can be broken down into several core functions, which are: To operate and manage Aeromedical Staging Facilities (ASF), provide all necessary nursing and medical support, preparing patients and all their associated medical equipment for safe flight, manage the logistical flow of patients, and set up and run a staging facility at an austere airfield closer to the combat zone, ensuring the rapid flow of casualties from the front lines to higher levels of care.
The 624th Aeromedical Staging Squadron is the critical “middleman” in the U.S. Air Force’s medical evacuation chain. They are the experts at receiving, caring for, and preparing patients for their journey aboard aeromedical aircraft, ensuring a seamless and life-saving continuum of care from the battlefield to definitive hospitals.
We manufactured a cool and unique custom challenge coin for them. They wanted to have fun with the design by putting a character from a famous animated movie as the mascot on the front side of the coin. And as usual, having the other side with embossed and painted symbols and insignias of their unit. Finished with enamel paints of solid glossy colors.
Why so serious with your designs? Have fun and let us help you build cool and exciting coins, medals, or other mementos for your team or unit.
