United States Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, is the largest federal law enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security. With more than 60,000 employees, it is charged with keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the U.S. while facilitating lawful international travel and trade.

And its mission is to protect the American people, safeguard our borders, and enhance the nation’s economic prosperity. For nearly 125 years, the U.S. Customs Service was the primary source of governmental funds, which paid for the nation’s early growth and infrastructure.

The CBP ordered a challenge coin from us to be awarded to one of its Chiefs. They wanted a classic-looking challenge coin, with minimum use of colors, but with highly detailed engravings on its surface. Before the final design went through our cutting-edge machinery, we made sure that every line, image, and lettering was laid out nicely so they would be carved flawlessly onto the surface of the metal coin.

You can check how the dragon image is beautifully sculptured, with the minimalistic use of white and black paint to add depth to the design. The lettering on both sides was machined to the highest precision, so that even the tiny words are still readable. We also applied the brushed metal finish on the logo for an elegant look.
