There is no fixed price for a custom challenge coin. Cost is quoted per project, and quotes from Embleholics are free with no obligation.

Eight things move the price:

  1. Quantity. The largest single factor, because tooling cost spreads across the run.
  2. Diameter. More metal and more die surface.
  3. Thickness. Standard is 4mm.
  4. Base metal. Zinc alloy, brass, iron or copper.
  5. Plating and finish. Gold, silver, nickel, copper, black nickel, antiques, dual plating.
  6. Enamel type. Soft enamel or hard enamel.
  7. Number of colors. Each color is filled separately.
  8. Added features. 3D relief, custom shapes, cutouts, edge detail, packaging.

Quantity dominates the rest. The same design costs less per coin at 500 pieces than at the 50-coin minimum, because one die serves both runs and its cost divides across 10 times as many coins.

If you are working to a fixed budget, say the number up front. It is faster to design a coin that fits the budget than to redesign one that doesn’t. Our team will tell you what a given budget buys at your quantity.
