The Spring Hill Fire Department (SHFD) – Training Division is the dedicated section within the Spring Hill Fire Department responsible for ensuring all firefighters and emergency personnel are prepared, proficient, and safe. It is the backbone of the department’s operational readiness. The Training Division’s primary mission is to develop, coordinate, and deliver all training programs for the department.
Think of the Spring Hill Fire Department – Training Division as the “corporate university” or “center for excellence” for their firefighters. They are responsible for taking a recruit and turning them into a competent firefighter, and then ensuring that the firefighter continues to learn and adapt throughout their entire career. Their work directly impacts the safety of both the public and the firefighters themselves.
We had the opportunity to build them a custom challenge coin for the recruits who have completed the training. They asked us to create something elegant and timeless, a round-shaped challenge coin with the fire department’s and the Training Division’s logos on both sides of the coin, embossed and painted with glossy solid colors, with black as the background.
The rims of the coin were not decorated with a thread of pattern, such as rope or chain patterns, but it was just a clear line with a streak of red encircling the inner part of the rims. The logo and symbols etched on the field of the coins were beautifully embossed and painted, along with the lettering and inscriptions.
