No. This is a policy answer rather than a capability one. Technically a die can be cut from almost any design, but Embleholics does not reproduce a coin belonging to another unit, agency, department or organisation.

The distinction that matters is whose coin it is.

  • Your own organisation’s coin. Recreating a unit’s previous coin, reviving an older design, or producing a new version of a coin your command has issued before is routine. You hold the authority to reproduce it, and a photo of the original is a perfectly good starting point.
  • Someone else’s coin. A coin carrying another unit’s crest, another agency’s seal or another company’s logo is not yours to reproduce, whatever the reason for wanting it. The insignia on it is protected independently of the coin itself.
  • A design you admire. Liking the look of another organisation’s coin is a fine starting point for a brief. Tell our artists what appeals, whether that is the antique finish, the cutout, the edge treatment or the layout, and they will build something original around it. What we will not do is reproduce the piece.

Responsibility for holding the rights to supplied artwork sits with the customer, and we produce on that basis.
