What the guarantee covers: the design on both faces as shown in the approved proof, the text exactly as approved, the size and thickness ordered, the specified plating and finish, the specified enamel type and colors, and freedom from manufacturing defects.

The approved digital proof sets the standard. Once you approve it in writing, it becomes the specification, which is why the proof review is worth doing carefully. Check spelling, ranks, dates, hull numbers and unit designations at that stage. An error present in the proof you approved is not a production fault, and it is the single most common cause of disappointment on custom coin orders anywhere in the industry.

What isn’t covered: normal variation inherent to the process. Enamel colors vary very slightly between batches, antique finishes vary marginally coin to coin because oxidation isn’t perfectly uniform, and plating wears at contact points over years of pocket carry. None of these are defects.
