An AI image works better as a reference than as final artwork. AI output is a flat raster image, and a coin die needs clean vector line work with defined edges, separated color fields and controlled depth. Our artists redraw it either way, so what you’re really supplying is a visual brief.

Where AI images help: showing the arrangement you have in mind, the mood, the general composition. That saves a revision round.

Where they cause problems: AI images frequently produce garbled text, inconsistent symmetry, invented insignia and detail that’s far too fine to strike at 1.75 inches. Anything with lettering usually needs rebuilding from scratch.

The more important issue is permission. If the image incorporates a unit insignia, an agency badge, a company logo or third-party artwork, generating it with AI doesn’t change who owns it. The authorization requirements are the same as for any other artwork.

Send it in with your enquiry and the artist will tell you what carries over. A hand sketch plus a written description often gets there faster.

Artwork and revisions are free. See finished designs in our gallery, or request a free quote.
