Some wounds are not visible, yet they change everything. Behind quiet eyes and steady voices, many veterans and trauma survivors carry memories that words can’t always reach.
A Write to Heal, founded by filmmaker, actor, and survivor Lisa Regina and her dedicated team, was born from that silence. It stands as a nonprofit devoted to transforming trauma into creative purpose, using storytelling, film, and technology to help people rebuild their lives.

For veterans, at-risk youth, and survivors of abuse, A Write to Heal offers something rare: a way to reclaim their stories through writing, filmmaking, and drone training programs. It is a place where art becomes therapy, and storytelling becomes a way to rediscover identity.
In 2025, Embleholics had the honor of working with Lisa and her team to create a challenge coin that embodied their mission. Crafted for their in-person fundraiser, the coin wasn’t made for collectors—it was made to carry meaning.
A Coin That Spoke From The Heart

The idea for the coin came from A Write to Heal’s Veteran Board Members and Vice President, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel. For them, the coin represented gratitude, patriotism, and the spirit of service. It was their way of honoring sponsors and partners who made their programs possible, people who, through their generosity, help veterans and survivors rediscover their strength.
Each coin bore the organization’s name and logo, designed with fine detail that seemed almost impossible to capture on metal. When guests held it for the first time, they couldn’t help but ask, “How did they fit all that on a coin?” But beyond the craftsmanship, it was the message that resonated: this coin stood for healing through purpose, and purpose through art.
A Moment Of Gratitude That Became A Bond
During the fundraiser, Lisa presented the coins to the event sponsors. It was an intimate, heartfelt gesture. Each coin handed over carried not only thanks but recognition, a symbol that their support was seen, valued, and forever part of A Write to Heal’s mission.
“One of our sponsors was truly moved when we presented them with a coin,” Lisa shared. “It was a powerful gesture that expressed our sincere appreciation for their support. The coin has become more than just a token, it’s helped us build meaningful, lasting relationships.”
That moment captured what A Write to Heal stands for: the courage to turn vulnerability into connection.
Art, Healing, And The Courage To Begin Again

A Write to Heal’s mission extends far beyond a single event. Through its writing, film, and drone initiatives, the organization empowers veterans and survivors to reclaim their voices, tell their stories, and find peace in creativity.
Their Veterans Drone Training Program guides participants toward FAA Part 107 licensure, opening career pathways in film, aviation, and aerial production. On film sets, through the initiative known as Film Heals, veterans rediscover a familiar sense of structure and teamwork, the kind they once knew in service. Surrounded by camaraderie, they learn that the set, much like a unit, is built on trust, mission, and purpose.
Actor Joe Mantegna, known for Criminal Minds, now supports this mission as Executive Producer of Heroic Episodes, a series that amplifies these powerful stories.
As Lisa often says, “We serve those who have served. We tell stories that need to be heard.”
More Than A Coin, A Legacy Of Gratitude
For Embleholics, creating the coin for A Write to Heal was an experience that transcended design. It was a chance to help a story take shape, one that connects art, honor, and humanity.
Each coin represented not only the organization’s gratitude but a shared understanding: that service takes many forms. Some fight on battlefields; others fight to rebuild lives, memories, and hope.
We were proud to play a small part in their mission, to give form to a symbol that continues to remind every veteran, every survivor, and every supporter that purpose can rise from pain.
Carrying Hope Forward
Today, A Write to Heal continues to expand its reach, partnering with artists, educators, and veterans across the country. From writing workshops to drone certifications and the ongoing production of Heroic Episodes, their work proves that storytelling truly heals.
Through initiatives like Just 5, even small recurring donations help sustain programs that give veterans and survivors the tools to heal and rebuild. Every contribution keeps their stories alive and their mission moving forward.
Every challenge coin handed out remains a bridge between art and service, a piece of metal that carries something unbreakable, the belief that healing is possible, and no one has to walk that road alone.
At Embleholics, we believe in that mission. Because behind every story, there is strength. And behind every coin we craft, there is the heartbeat of those who continue to serve through courage, compassion, and creativity.
