The Public Health Activity–Fort Lewis (PHA-FL) is a U.S. Army veterinary and public health unit based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington State. It operates under the Public Health Command–Pacific and plays a vital role in supporting military readiness and community health across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
PHA-FL supports 14 military installations, 23 naval ships and submarines, and 8 commissaries throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Beyond its operational duties, PHA-FL actively engages with the community through events like open houses, where service members and their families can learn about veterinary care, food safety, and the role of military working dogs.
They wanted something unique and memorable for their challenge coin. Conservatively round-shaped like a classic coin, they requested us to cut through the coin so there’s an opening in the fields of the coin. On both sides of the coin, they wanted to have a graphical image of Mount Reiner, which we used as the outline for the hollow part. The Mount Reiner image was mirrored, so both sides have the same outline for the opening.
Our cutting-edge machinery can carve and cut most of the base materials we use for our products. With the help of digitally enhanced designs done by our team of designers, our equipment can make modifications to the very small details, such as the medical symbol and the small insignias carved on the rim of the coin, as you can see in the photos.
If your design has out-of-the-box shapes or complex details, don’t hesitate to consult us at Embleholics to see if we can turn it into reality for you.
